We sat down with Matt Meyler, Commercial Director at Actually Group, to discuss the organisation’s ambitious expansion plans for 2023; Keld Spring, their latest luxury holiday escape near Helmsley in North Yorkshire, and its open weekend taking place this Easter, and why a holiday home from Actually Group is like no other.
Can you tell us a bit about Actually Group’s story so far?
Actually Group was founded in 2021 to transform holiday home ownership and lodge holidays for the UK staycation sector.
We’re the first of our kind to offer a unique end-to-end process for this market, with expertise in land acquisition and development, through to lodge design, manufacturing, and resort marketing and management. If you’re somebody interested in owning a second home for either personal use or to maximise its rental potential, Actually Group is the organisation for you!
We’ve also created the perfect holiday escapes in many of the UK’s most desirable locations for couples, families and friends to come together and make lasting memories. Our holiday accommodation has been beautifully crafted to deliver maximum comfort for our guests, and our locations and accommodations are diverse, meaning there is something for everybody.
What’s the ethos of the company?
Similar to what I said above, it’s our mission and ethos to bring people together in contemporary and comfortable holiday lodges in some of the country’s most picturesque and popular holiday destinations.
From a business perspective, despite our massive growth and progression, we still maintain the family feel that the organisation was founded upon. We’ve fostered a culture of integrity, not only for each other and our community, but also for our planet. Promoting and being sustainable and eco-friendly in everything we do is essential to us.
Actually Group recently announced a whopping £1.5 million investment into RWST Holiday Lodges in North Wales – can you tell us more about this?
Yes, it’s an exciting time for Actually Group with regards to RWST Holiday Lodges. This latest investment, which follows on from a £1.8 million development in 2021, has always been part of our long-term plan for the holiday park. It has already become a hugely popular destination since we purchased it two years ago, and it’s a firm favourite for so many people all around the country looking for a perfect escape to North Wales.
Depending on planning approval, our latest pledge will see additional holiday accommodation built, as well as the development of a training facility for Actually Group’s team, focused on skills and career development.
But what’s most important about our expansion plan is the positive impact it’ll have on the lovely market town of Llanrwst – the home and namesake of our holiday escape. It’ll help to increase overnight visitors staying in the town, which will see additional expenditure flowing into local shops, eateries and pubs and showcase why this region is one of North Wales’ most beautiful.
Keld Spring looks phenomenal. Do you have any updates about this stunning getaway?
I think so too. It’s a stunning place we have created.
